My stuff on length is out of date now and I have to redo it. You should call the city directly. They increased the length so I think you're OK on it, but they did not change the moorings (safety?). I wouldn't worry about it for normal winter strong winds. The 17' boat is a problem though because it exceeds the dinghy length. You have to make special arrangements, or call Burdines to see what you can do with them - either way it will cost some money. Anchorage is still available openly in the west of the harbor but first come first served. Also you can anchor outside the harbor on the west end, but I don't know if I'd do that for 2 months with shifting winds.

: I have been looking at all sites possible
: regarding the mooring fields at Boot Key
: Harbor. On the City site there is no mention
: of length restriction, but I found that on
: Capn Greg's site. We have a 45' Motor yacht
: and tow a 17' CC as our dinghy. Is there
: size limits, and if so are there other areas
: outside the designated mooring fields that
: we could anchor for a couple of months? What
: are the limitations on going ahore and tying
: up the 17'? A fellow boater that has been
: there before and is coming back said they
: had a water taxi before that could take us
: ashore if the 17' is a problem. Is that
: true? Thanks for any and all current info
: y'all can provide!Valerie on
