Power Squadron Offering Boat Courses

This is an announcement I received from the Power Squadron, and wanted to share it with anyone interested:
For Immediate Release:
The Marathon Sail & Power Squadron is once again offering its popular Boat Smart class. This class teaches the recreational boater; Getting Started-boat terms and types, boat handling, anchoring, water sport safety, personal watercraft, What’s Needed-equipment, regulations, law enforcement and Rules To Live By: aids to navigation, navigation rules, adverse conditions, marine radio. This one day class will be held Saturday, November 3rd.
The Squadron, who has been active in Marathon since 1957, will also begin offering a 1st Wednesday of the month Seminar series. November’s topic will be Using GPS. All classes are free with a nominal charge for materials and are held at the Squadron’s building on Loggerhead Lane, bayside off of 52nd St. For more information contact Ralph Magnotti, 305-731-0339 or Dick Schewe, 815-978-1488.
