I know a few of you like Mr Vasil and that is ok.
I sent this letter to all city leaders due to all of the voters who have come to me for their own reasons.
Please, add you feelings, good or bad. REMEMBER many voices come from one. If you care about your home, your city, or the harbor... then you NEED to go to the City Council Meetings and let your voice be heard!
---------------------------------
To the City Leaders
From what has been found, as a general consensus, it appears City Councilman Vasil comes across as arrogant, pompous, rude and seen by many as bulling other City Council Members.
Councilman Vasil does have some good ideas for the city; however, the manner in which he presents them is unbecoming of someone in his position.
However, as this man attempts to bully his ideas (good or bad) through the City Council not only is he hurting himself but also those Council Members who have and are allowing themselves to be bullied by this man.
The City of Marathon needs leadership that inspires others. Councilman Vasil does not. A leader listens to ideas other than their own. Councilman Vasil does not. A City leader responds to voters phone calls, letters or emails. Councilman Vasil does not.
A leader must be able to instill key driving values, confidence in direction and plans. Again Councilman Vasil does not.
The City Council had this challenge with leadership several years ago. And now with Councilman Vasil it appears the city is facing that challenge once again.
When the general consensus is that City Councilman Vasil comes across as arrogant, pompous, rude and seen as bulling other City Council Members, voters lose confidence
in those Council Members who stand beside him.
When we had this challenge with leadership before, we started a Web Site showing the underside of the City of Marathon.
Many Council Members were opposed to the Web Site
even though (or maybe because of) it exposed the truth, the lack of leadership, the lack of responsiveness to the voters wishes.
We do not want to go through that again. For as Winston Churchill once said "Reconstructing a Cabinet is like solving a kaleidoscopic
jigsaw puzzle." How, if needed, please know we will.
Council Members of the City of Marathon, we are only asking you to listen to the Voters of Marathon. Listen to those who stand before
you at the City Council Meetings.
We are asking you to take the leadership roll. We are asking you to inspire and instill key driving values, confidence in direction
and plans.
Thank you for your time,
Jim Lowry
