There is now a movement afoot, headed by Sally Buehler, to unincorporate Marathon.
Many of us locals have received the mailings.
The essence of this is getting fed up with the corruption and local manipulation based on money and development.
We have all seen it.
I am not taking a position on this one way or another at this time, but it is a very relevant issue that all should be involved with.
Sally has a petition to sign to put this issue on the ballot to vote to dissolve the city of Marathon.

She also urges (and I agree) that you should register to vote if you have not done so yet.
(Do you know that if every anchored boater in Boot Key Harbor were to both register AND vote, that they would totally control all elections in Marathon? - just a thought for you).
