In 1995 I was discriminated against by a company and I sued them under the ADA just in order not to feel like a door mat. I signed the papers at the attorney’s office and pretty much forgot about it. That attorney turned it over to another attorney for some reason. In 1999 I got a phone call from the new attorney that there was an opportunity to settle. The defendant’s motion to dismiss had been denied. I went to the attorney’s office and left with a check. (It is very rare to win an ADA case.) On the way home I bought an airplane, a Cessna 172 which by the way, I used mostly to fly to Key West and Marathon from Ohio. I used the money from the Cessna to buy Shambhala, my 37’ Zeeland yawl. Presently I am suing the Social Security Administration under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (the Federal government excluded its self from the ADA and operates under that law).
I am a warrior spirit. My parents were warriors. My children are warriors. I’m sure my grandson is a warrior. My father who was a Marine Drill Instructor told me, “Never make your enemy mad at you, just kill him.” So, I don’t make threats, and I don’t play their games of politics (that is their ground, not mine), I just kill ‘em with a suit. Another thing my father told me is, “Make sure you use a big enough gun. You don’t want to hurt anybody; you only want to kill them.” So, get the best attorney you can find and give ‘em hell.
The point of my post yesterday was to be grateful for what you have.
