I read through the posts. I realize it's the unconventional approach, but I support Joanie 100% (always have).
Yes - I understand the criticisms (with apologies to Joanie for posting these on a public site). I know that she drinks a lot - even in church (but at least she's there!). She seems at first glance to be eccentric, but have you even sat down with her to listen to her opinions in depth? I have much respect for Joanie. She is a well educated person that thinks deeply through issues, but MOST IMPORTANTLY is totally honest and puts other people first. I trust and respect her decisions. Some people blow her off as simple minded and uneducated when it comes to either entering into discussions or negotiations, but this is just not true. She intelligently thinks through issues and importantly has no hidden agendas or financial motives to cast council votes. Yes she drinks. When she does she expresses her real thoughts more fuid-like than if she didn't. Don't many of us do that? I've never seen a mean bone in her body. She never is out to hurt someone, is always out to help everyone, and actually is well educated (Masters Degree) and intelligent enough to make informed decisions. I wish I could say that about most citizens. Yes she rides a bicycle to get around. Is that bad?
Whatever the result, I want to go on the record as supporting Joanie OVER 100% in terms of ethics, honesty, intellect and morality. There are other superficial traits that might seem to detract from her at first glance, but I'm personally telling you that she is reliable and trustworthy, and I would have the utmost confidence in her. The only caveat is that we'd all have to deal with the unconventionality, but we can deal with that.
