Both are watching the linebacker. Then, one of them, depending on which gains control of the defensive player, disengeges from the block and "seals", or blocks the linebacker, thus creating a seam for the running back. There are a lot of veriation on this, and I don't understand all that much of it, but that's the basics.
but basically, zone blocking essentially loads one side of the line, depending on where the running back is supposed to go.
