That said, I think there's always a chance for a team to do better than expected. The first year in a new system is always rough. Nobody's very sure of what they are doing. Mistakes are made. Players do not all fit the system. Second years can be a lot better, but I'm not sure if it will happen here. I think that it may take more than a year to instill a winning attitude here in Detroit. I remember when Jeff Garcia came here, he said that there were a lot of players here that had no idea of what it takes to win. We got rid of some of those guys (hopefully), but you can't swap out everybody in one year. On the other hand, the North is a weak division in general right now. The players we have may buy into the coaches philosophy. And any team that gets lucky with injuries will be able to make a run. Hey, I've been a Lions fan since I was ten years old, and that's when we won our last championship! If you don't have faith in the future, you just can't be a Lions fan!
but after all, that's the attitude you want your quarterback to have. Besides, what's he gonna say?
