My eldest son wanted to do fantasy football and in his first ever draft he was faced with the same scenario you described. The only difference was he was drafting at #6 (so there were a little bit better rbs left, but not by much) and I advised him to take Manning. Again in the second round he was faced with either Steve Smith or Chad Johnson and a bunch of committee rbs. I like Johnson a bit better because I like Palmer better than Delhomme, so I completely understand your dilemma and cannot criticize your picks since I advised my son to do the same thing. He somehow still ended up with Maurice Jones-Drew and Marshawn Lynch as his RB1&2...his backups are Tatum Bell and Brian Leonard. He was so disgusted with his draft, he went back to ESPN and joined another league. LOL I had told him he should practice drafting before he joined a league, but as with all teenagers he was absolutely positive that he knew what he was doing. I got called in to help with about 10 seconds to prepare...after about 3 years of being out of fantasy football. Boy, did I feel under the gun! Good thing I've continued to pay a little bit of attention to the rest of the nfl other than the Lions (though more with an nfl draft purpose). His next draft, he picked at #2 and took Stephen Jackson and he feels much better now. We'll see which league he does better with. I'm sorry to read that I couldn't help you with the QB thing. I hear the Jets are really looking at Kellen Clemons for the future (with Pennington looking really bad during this pre-season). I would say though that Campbell looks like the most sure thing of the four because at least he has secured his job. Grossman had a much better statistical game (though, imo he still looked pretty regurgitating-esque) his last game; but if I were Lovey, I would have Brian Grease warming up.
Generally speaking, WR is probably the easiest position to improve off the waiver wire. For rb you almost have to wait for a rb to get injured, and that nobody picked up his backup. QB you can get lucky.
