I see this as being Millen-oma's final season in Detroit, regardless. The Lions have functioned without a GM for the last 6 years so I don't think they need to fill that position perse. What they need to do is find a president of scouting and personnel ...as that is what Millen envisioned himself as. He gave away most of his other duties to others. Saying that, if Marinelli goes above 500, then he should stay and could then take on the title of GM and appoint a scouting and personnel guru. I still think it may take a minor miracle for Coletto to be a successful OC.
So, unfortunately, I don't see Marinelli sticking around. I understand what Marinelli is saying, but I think there were other moves he could have made. Appointing Coletto as OC was a drastic and job-ending move, as I see it. I could be wrong, but Coletto has been below average at every stop he's made.
