As the draft is now close, and I can finally get back on the site thanks to LisaJo, there is something that draws me to make another obstreperous post before the next Loins' draft fiasco. If either DE Harvey or OT Williams falls to the Lions in the first round, they will bum me out completely if they pass on one or both of them. While other teams have fixed their lines first over the years then drafted RBs, WRs, QBs, and DBs, our beloved Loins have done just the opposite, and it certainly shows in each season's pathetic results!
Now I see where many are projecting the Loins to select a RB first once again. Bleagh! Get some blockers first, then go after a RB in another year or so. There are always some solid RBs available in each draft. Get the lines fixed first, then go after skill players.
Interestingly, the last report I read was that the team was more interested in Oregon's Stewart than Mendenhall at the RB position. Stewart is a talent, but has been injured in college, while Mendenhall appears strong and healthy. Given the Loins' reluctance to draft healthy players in the recent past, I suspect this is why Stewart is more appealing to them. Double Bleagh!
There... I feel better! LisaJo, this does not hold a candle to your lengthy and well thought out rants, but at my age, time is certainly a significant factor in this post's brevity.
