Autumn comes again to spread its colorful chill
Lions gear comes out of storage to show our thrill
Hope springs again that this could be the year
One quarter into the season and I've shed my first tear.
Millen had his chance and like WCF his pockets are full
I stumble thru the rest of autumn with this aching in my skull
I'll watch our Lions continue to maintain their hold on mediocrity
Thanking the person who created football fantasy.
Hope springs eternal or so I've heard some say
I'd like to see that flower instead of always wilting away
I'll watch all those expansion teams do things we only dream
Take a trip to a Super Bowl as their fans rejoice and scream
