... He has no idea what the Loins are doing on defense! He said yesterday afternoon that they are not doing three basic things that any defense should be doing, and this causes the constant lapses that result in numerous big plays for each team they play. I am so old I have already forgotten the specifics of what he said, though I believe one of them was protecting the weak side against cutbacks. Sorry about the memory lapse - AGAIN!
Without saying so directly, me thinks he is shaking his head at the team's defensive coordinator. If true, I am glad he has joined me in the head shaking.
While I am not one of those who wants to see the team go 0-16, if that is what it takes to ensure a complete house cleaning from top to bottom, then I won't mind it as much. One of the rumors flying around the NFL these days is that it would be wise to hire Scott Pioli of the Patriots as GM and give him full control. One possible hire of his for HC would be the Pats current OC, which might result in his bringing QB Matt Cassel with him in a FA signing that would impact the new offense right away.
I have two problems believing this could actually occur. Would Pioli leave the Pats for this Loins debacle of an organization? Secondly, would Ford actually be capable of making this smart a move?
