How will cornerback Travis Fisher feel if the Lions win Sunday at Green Bay and avoid the NFL’s first 0-16 season?
“If we win, man, I ain’t catching the plane back home,” Fisher said today. “I might walk. I’ll walk back. I’ll walk back to Detroit.”
Asked jokingly whether the media can hold him to that, Fisher said, smiling: “That’s a guarantee. I’ll walk back to Detroit.”
It’s fair to ask whether Fisher is a little woozy. He suffered a concussion Sunday against New Orleans and had symptoms until Wednesday night.
But he practiced Friday, and he said he felt fine and will play against the Packers.
“Whether I play one snap or whether I play the whole game, I don’t know,” Fisher said. “It’s not in my hands. But if I can go out today and practice, I’m going to play in the game.”
Why not sit out and take care of himself at this point?
“It’s real easy -- 0-15, it’s real easy to just shut it down,” Fisher said. “It’s real easy to shut it down. You see it all the time. That’s just not me all the way. If I do anything, I want to be the example for the people that’s around me that’s younger than me.”
Asked whether there was one thing he didn’t want attached to his name, Fisher said: “That I’m a quitter. I just don’t want to be labeled as that. That’s why I’m fighting through everything – all the adversity and all the stuff that’s going on around here.
“Football is football, and I’ve been playing long enough for people to know about my game and how I play. When you’re on a team that’s 0-15, it’s kind of easy to look around and point fingers. Who’s packing their bags? Who’s trying to leave out? Just kind of keep my name away from all that, just try my best to play my game.”

Funny stuff. Media will have a field day with this if they win..lol
