While it would be hard to argue that young Mr. Cassel had a very productive year, I caution all those whom think he might be the answer to our woes, or at least part of the solution. I remember another young back-up QB that had one good year and the Lions signed him with the foolish hopes of resurrecting a stagnant offense. Scotty Mitchell should sound familiar. While I think Cassel is a talented QB, he also had the support of a veteran offensive unit and perhaps the best coaching available in the NFL. Two things the Lions will not be able to offer.
On a sidebar, my pre-season prediction of 3-13 season was meant to be pessimistically low. Who knew...?
