The beauty of this is that there are PLENTY of qualified guys available like your list showed. When has it ever been a time that this many experienced guys like Dennis Green, Marty Schottenheimer, and Mike Shanahan are available for the Lions to choose from??
The only question is, with that plum job in Denver open, will we actually have a shot at the best guy? When Shanahan became available, that'd be the focus for me. He's a proven winner. He could do what Larry Brown did for the Pistons in time (although he should stick around a lot longer than LB!!) However, with Mayhew stating that the coach prolly wouldn't have much say in personnel, I doubt if we'll get the best possible coach. I don't know a whole lotta top-notch coaches that would agree to a situation like that.
