Lewand/Mayhew have stated they want a coach who will be paid between $1-3 million, not a coach looking for a big check. They have also stated that the coach they are looking for will not have any personnel duties.
So the guy is taking over a team coming off an 0-16 record, not much on field talent, no decision in personnel and reporting to a first time GM. If I was a coordinator it would not sound very appealing to me.
Spagnuolo, Schwartz, Ryan and other top coordinators are using the Lions front office to drive up their price. I would be surprised if the Lions get one of the top coordinators.
I am beginning to wonder if perspective coaches look at the Lions job like they look at the Raiders job.
