I like Shanahan a lot, even Schottenheimer but those proven guys wouldn't come into this kinda situation. I liked McDaniels too, but I can't blame him for taking that Denver gig. That's the best job that was available.
Outta the upstarts that Mayhew seems to be favoring, I'm really liking the pedigree of Bowles. Talk is cheap, but his background with Gibbs, Parcells, and Holmgren is stout. Plus he's been coaching for a while as an assistant. If good players can be identified, he seems like he'd be able to utilize them properly, which is all we can ask.
I'm liking what I'm seeing from Mayhew also Lisa. Millen prolly would've hired the wrong guy by now. At least they are taking their time.
Not sure why they'd wait until AFTER the draft to fill the personnel position. I'd want that position filled ASAP, even before FA begins in March. What's the point of hiring that person after all the major personnel decisions are made??
But this is the Lions we're talking about.
