LB Curry is now being projected as the Loins first choice instead of QB Stafford in a couple of mock drafts. Initially, I had wanted one of the talented left tackles with that choice, but I am warming to this idea after seeing some of his performance at the rookie combine. A great MLB can be the hub of a defense, just like QB on an offense. Maybe this would be a good selection.
The TE LisaJo was talking about looked really good to me. He catches the ball with his hands, has a great athletic body, and looks powerful enough to block for the running game. As I write this, his name escapes my feeble memory. (Deep sigh!)
Of course, free agency begins tonight at midnight, and that will impact the way the team goes on draft day. Articles are saying the team will not go after the top tier FAs, choosing instead to go for less expensive players. Too bad. We watch a lot of "less expensive" players here on our team. Doesn't this term usually mean "less talented" as well? I hope not. Haynesworth appears out if these reports are true. I never expected him to come here anyway. We will find out a lot more about our new GM and his team very soon.
