if Stafford was the next Elway or Manning, I wouldn't mind if they took him. But he's not. He could turn out to be a really good quarterback, but there are questions. If there wern't, the Lions phone would be ringing off the hook by now, teams would be trying to get that number one pick if there was any quarterback out there that even resembeled a sure thing.
Just once, I'd like to see the Lions build in the trenches first. A quarterback does not learn the nuances of the game while he is running for his life, or while the defense is on the field for three quarters of the game.
Is that too much to ask?
