...This was the team's best chance to jump into the mix as a contender for the NFC North title very soon. Now they are solidly behind the Bears and Packers, not to mention the talented Vikings. Last place will be a given for years and years, IMHO.
Great QBs are seldom traded like this, and the team needed to make it happen no matter the cost in draft picks. With 50+ years of poor QB play for Detroit now likely to continue, I am totally discouraged once again.
This addition could have closed the gap quickly and given the team a major talent boost at the most important position in football. Mayhew and Co. have done some good things since taking over, but missing out on Cutler trumps them all. NUTS!
