He has signed a one year deal for $3 million to play MLB. The hope is that the team will sign him to a long term deal once he has played well. This does seem to be a promising LB crew now, I must admit.
The free agent signing also makes the draft choice in round two appear less injurious. Passing on Maualuga seemed a terrible mistake at the time. The first two picks are still galling me, however. The defense will likely be on the field an awful lot with an offense that cannot block for the passing or running games.
Did the team also sign offensive guard Fonoti this week? Maybe he can help?
