He can play after 6 weeks, of regular season (week 7 of that is... November at the earliest).
However, since he has to have surgery (again) on his knee, I suspect he is out for the year, try again in 2010.
I look for the Lions to sign another FA real soon. Not sure why they signed a LB yesterday.
Oh, and the new kicker (while Hanson recovers from his knee surgery) was 2 for 4 today in practice... a WR (Looker) was 2 for 2 at 30 yards.
