I was cruising through the Netblog,
Kinda wondering what to do.
A thread jumped out at me,
Like a flash out of the blue.
Come join a Yahoo league football,
Fantasy you think,
NetRat included there a number code,
An a highlight for the link.
Never tried Yahoo Football Fantasy,
Even though, of Sprawl, it may be said,
He attended concerts at the Fillmore,
And live shows of the Dead.
So I headed off to Yahoo,
And started raising smoke.
Named my team the Elysian Peppers,
An inside literary joke.
Practiced with the mock draft,
And thought I had it down.
Waited then ‘till Friday,
When the big draft would go down.
Well the real thing’s not like the mocker,
Though they say that I am wrong,
All the players that I wanted,
When my turn came they were gone.
So I was frantically searching,
For players I could draft,
When I picked one Plaxido Burress,
Everybody had a laff.
Now I don’t follow all the NFL,
I’ve enough trouble with the Lions,
How’d I know he was in prison,
Shot himself not really tryin’.
Well I finally filled a team out,
Got my ducks all in a line,
The Lions 08 record, by the Peppers
May be repeated in Oh Nine.
And I don’t know if the season,
Will be a blessing or a curse,
But NetRat and his Nasties,
Will be the team that we play first.
Wish us and the Lions well this season,
Not to worry that ain't all,
Be thankful when we hit some snags,
That the Lions aren't coached by Sprawl.
