This defense isn't going to be good this year no matter what. They lack horses up front for the 4-3, and they at least have some horses at LB for the 3-4. Sims and Dizon are maybe too small for the traditional 3-4, but if you use Foote as your Ted ILB he could be a blocker for those two guys if they're on the field. Otherwise they could use Foote and Levy on the inside in the standard 3-4. They have about 8 3-4 DEs on the roster. The only thing really holding them back is that they don't have a healthy full-time NT, but Grady would allow them to at least use it part time.
What do they really have to lose? This defense is bad no matter which way you cut it, and this is a throw away year for the offense with Stafford in there anyway. Grow these guys up. There's really no reason to wait.
