I am encouraged by the upgrade to the defensive line this year, and especially with the selection of a boy named Suh by Mayhew and Co. The defense is coming along because of the offseason moves made before this season.
With another high selection coming in April 2011, a great left tackle could go a long way toward fixing the OL and getting a good running game going. Backus could move to right tackle or guard and immediately be an upgrade at either position. I have always believed him to be a possible star guard playing out of position at LT. Here's hoping the OL and LBers will get a major boost next season.
The losing continues, but for the first time in a very long time I have some hope for vast improvement in the not so very far future. Fixing both lines will be a big key as to how long we must wait for that to occur. Here's hoping the good offseason moves continue.
