'twas the last game of the season
and all through the den
Lions fans were again happy
just how long has it been
their team won two road games
making it three in a row
after beating the hated Packers
at home a few weeks ago
one more week until the off season
expectations they aren't the same
got to beat the Vikings
and ruin Bret Favre's last game
the Lions will likely be drafting
around pick number fourteen
if everything should go right
with a few rather bad teams
so please add to that roster
after passing that new CBA
Lions fans are very anxious
for some post season play
on Johnson, on Stafford,
on Suh and VandenBosh
no more waiting til next year
no more expecting a loss
go finish out this season
another is set to begin
there are oh so many ways
to rhyme the word win
to my fellow Lions fans
I say happy new year
here's hoping you all still fit
in your old Lions gear.
