...is getting filled up quickly it seems as the Lions roar through the preseason! After last night's beating down of a great team and QB, I am nearly ready to get on it myself. The defense looks to be tough to deal with, the special teams are again improved, team speed is definitely visible, and Stafford looks to be a fledgling great QB that is ready to take flight now! Depth at many positions is evident. Mayhew is looking brilliant as GM, and this coaching staff is aggressive and makes adjustments on the fly. I like what I see, that's for sure.
However, the running game needs better blocking from the OL, a problem in the upcoming lengthy season. I need to see them in the opener that starts the NFL season, a tough start in Tampa Bay. Being undefeated in the preseason is not a good predictor of anything special once the league is playing for real. Remember the last time the Lions went 4-0? Gulp! Also, I mustn't forget that Mr. Injury Bug still resides at Ford Field, and he loves to destroy Honolulu Blue and Silver hopes with a passion! Nasty little critter!
Still, the steps to climbing on the wagon are so easy to access right now, that I may just have to start up them before too much longer. This team does look very promising to these old eyes. Go Lions!
