History: Brilliant scientist Dr. Otto Octavius was hired by industrialist Justin Hammer to spy on Hammer’s top competition, Norman Osborn. While working at and spying on Osborn Industries, Inc., Otto was part of the Oz project and learned of the accident that turned Peter Parker into Spider-Man. Octavius helped Norman Osborn inject himself with the Oz formula and the brilliant doctor was caught in the mysterious explosion that followed. The explosion caused the robotic arms that Octavius used during his experiments to graft to his body and caused damage to his eyes that made them sensitive to light. The next thing Otto knew he was waking up in a top-secret SHIELD facility with full control of his robotic arms and blaming Justin Hammer for the accident.
