Posted by Ferdy Outside the compound, Morita and Savage continue to battle the Hydra agents. While knocking another agent out, Morita tells Savage that he is growing weary. Savage chops an agent across the neck and tells Morita not to give up now! The agents can’t have much fight left in them either! Morita kicks another agent in the head and says that he hopes he is right. While knocking out another agent, Savage says that, all of a sudden, he can practically guarantee it! Morita says that, in that case, perhaps they should give it an extra effort! Morita leaps and kicks another agent while Savage knocks one out, saying that that’s the best idea Morita’s had since he decided to team up with him. He tells him not to take it to heart, though, because he wouldn’t want him to chicken out on his promise… that him and Morita are gonna have a showdown once they clean up this lousy island! Morita tells Savage that he needs not fear that, for he is still his enemy! And he may rest assured he will prove it at the soonest opportunity! Standing atop the unconscious Hydra agents, Savage tells Morita that that’s music to his ears… but right now they should just concentrate on finding their men! It kinda looks like these clowns aren’t going to give them any more lip! Morita says that he agrees. He points and says that the agents seemed to come from that direction… so it would seem likely they should follow their trail. Savage says that he’s a real smart fellow and says “Let’s go!” (Five minutes later) Savage says that it looks like their buddies back there could have used some lessons in trail covering from Littlebear! Morita says that he cannot deny that they have made the task of finding their headquarters considerably easier for them. Rushing through the forest, Savage says that they should stop beating their gums, then, and shake a leg! They haven’t a minute to spare! At that very instant, in the underground fortress of Baron Strucker… the Samurai Squadron and Leatherneck Raiders are all lined up in a row and awaiting their firing squad. Yakkety says all right… it’s starting to look like there isn’t anyway out of here… so he doesn’t want to hear any whimpering out of them. If they’ve gotta die, they’re all gonna die like heroes… because that’s what the corps’d expect of them! In other words, when those pop guns go off… and that little hunk of steel tears through them… from that second till the second their tickers give out, he’ll expect each and every one of them to be a Leatherneck! A Hydra agent calls them swine and tells them to be silent or they will die sooner than is inevitable! Only the arrival of the Supreme One delays their execution at this very moment. The agent, who is Strucker’s Chief Aide, says that he must confess that he grows increasingly impatient. It is not wise to let so dangerous a group of assassins remain alive… when they could be completely immediately eliminated! Outside the complex, Savage and Morita sneak up in a forest behind an armed Hydra agent. Savage quietely tells Morita that, like the man said, this must be the place! There’s a guard and some kind of tunnel entrance. If they sneak up on him quietly, they shouldn’t have any problems. Then, moving like swift, silent jungle cats, the two commando squad leaders creep ever closer to their unsuspecting quarry. Morita knocks out the agent and says that once again his grueling hours of judo practice have paid off. The agent will not be sounding any alarms! Walking into the entrance to the underground, Savage says that he might have a point there… but he’ll save his applause for later. Within a matter of moments, Savage and Morita are racing through the underground complex. Savage says that it looks like they’ve finally made it into the underground complex… so they have to keep moving. It’s hard telling how far they’ll go before they reach the leader’s headquarters. And the chances are they haven’t got a second to lose! Then, even as the two desperate soldiers press tirelessly onward… Strucker walks into the room where his captives are being held. He tells his men that it’s excellent that they are ready for the proceedings to get under way. He appreciates promptness and efficiency in his orders. But there will be time for praise later! Strucker raises his sword in the air and says that, at this moment, it is most important that… the execution proceed! The Hydra agents aim at the captured soldiers as Strucker raises his sword higher into the air. Little Bear thinks what a way to go this is. He could have been the world’s heavyweight wrestling champ and instead he has to go down without even moving a muscle. Lee Baker thinks of his students and how it looks like he’s not going to get the chance to see any of them again. All he can do now is hope there’s some other teacher in the ghetto to pick up where he left off. Yakkety Yates thinks that the agents should just go ahead and shoot. If they think they’re going to beg for mercy, they done picked the wrong man’s army! It’s just a blamed shame he can only die for the corps one time. Blarney Stone thinks of how it’s starting to look like he just might die here… but he isn’t cashing in yet. He’s been with the Captain too long to count him out of the action until the dice are tossed. Jacques Larocque thinks of how often he has thought that death would be like a beautiful woman… a warm, understanding release from the pressures of life. But now that he faces her, he’s not so certain.
