Posted by Ferdy But, the fate of the Leatherneck Raiders, has not yet been sealed. For, at the moment Morita and Savage knock out some Hydra agents on the way to free Morita. Savage yells to Morita that the guards are getting thicker so they must be getting closer! He leads the charge down the hall and tells Morita to come on! Only a few yards away, Strucker tells his Hydra agents that they have tarried long enough! At his command, the outsiders will be shot! He raises his sword and tells his men to ready… aim… Before he can finish, Morita and Savage break into the room. Savage calls Strucker and his agents murderous cutthroats and says that they can forget the fire! Shooting his gun into the air, Morita tells Savage that it would appear that they have expedited their mission with a dash of perfect timing. Savage draws his own gun and, calling Morita ‘buddy’, tells him that he better believe it! “Now let ‘er rip!” An agent tells his fellows that it’s the other American and his Japanese comrade! They must be shot! Another agent says no! They are too fast! They must turn to their leader for instructions! As the badly shaken Hydra shock troops flee in total confusion, Morita and Savage free their troops. Morita looks at Yakkety and says that he sees a look of puzzlement on his face… that his captain and he fight side-by-side! Yakkety says that, now that he mentioned it, he was sort of wondering why. Morita says that there will be time to explain later. For the moment, he should merely be happy that he is free. Yakkety says that he’s happy! He’s happy… but he still doesn’t figure how come they’re working with the nips! Morita angrily says that if he wishes to stay alive he won’t worry about it… at least until their common enemy has been defeated. Savage tells Yakkety that he heard what the man said! He’ll tell him what happened when there’s time for it! Morita tells Savage that that was well put. Now they should attempt to fight their way out of here… before it’s too late! Yakkety calls Morita a nip and says all right. He gets the message but that doesn’t mean he has to like it. Baker tells him not to sweat it. For now, they’ll just get them green-garbed goons that were trying to annihilate them! Yakkety tells Baker that he talked him into it and yells “Let’s go, Leathernecks!” Savage smiles and tells Yakkety that he’ll go for that. He then tells his men to grab some guns and start firing! Suddenly, bullets scream past Savage and into the wall beside him. He tells the soldiers to look alive! The enemy’s closing in on them from all sides! Not that it’s going to help them any… once they get the ball rolling! A Hydra agent tells the others that the Americans fight like demons. Only a miracle can… His speech is cut off by the sounds of his own screaming as he is shot in the stomach by Savage. Larocque shoots another agent and says onward for the glorious cause of freedom! Yakkety tells Laroque that he isn’t just whistling “I love Paris”. Shooting some more agents, he tells the others to give the Hydra the Leatherneck what for! Morita tells his men that they need only annihilate the Hydra task force to achieve the completion of their mission. So, for the glory of their emperor, let the victory be theirs! Morita unleashes some rounds into some Hydra agents. Stone tells the others that the Hydra are falling back! They can’t let up for a second though as there’s no sense in giving the bums time to regroup. Baker says not to mention the fact that the Captain’s counting on them and that ought to be reason enough for them to clean house! Little Bear raises his gun into the air and lets off some rounds. He says like his fore-fathers used to say “YIEEEE-HAAAA!!!” They’ve got them on the run! And within a mere ten seconds, the members of the Samurai Squadron and the Leatherneck Raiders are aboard a submarine. Morita tells Savage that everyone is aboard and account for. Now he must insist on taking command! Savage points his finger at him and says that he can insist all he wants… he’s not even a sub commander… he still commands! Then, within the shortest time possible, the underwater craft cuts through the black waters of the underground tunnel leading from Hydra Island. Savage tells Morita that he’s the ranking officer aboard this craft… and his orders will have to be obeyed. Morita grits his teeth and says that he’s not in a position to argue with him… at this moment. But, once they have cleared the danger of an explosion… it will most definitely be a different story! Savage says that they’ve both understood that for a long time and he’s looking forward for the showdown! So, their major differences once again temporarily forgotten, the two mortal enemies combine their talents to steer the mammoth ship clear of the Hydra Island entrance tunnel… never once forgetting the grave crisis between themselves which must eventually be settled. Until, once clear of the deadly Island’s coral reefs, the ship’s periscope is finally raised… just in time to witness one of the most awesome explosions witnessed by mortal men! After the Hydra Island explodes, the ship cuts silently through the waters- it’s crew in an awe-stricken state of shock… a state which is not broken, until… Morita rallies his troops behind him and says that now that the danger is ended, the common enemy destroyed, they are now once again mortal enemies… and he demands full control of this craft! Yakkety and the Leatherneck Raiders convene behind Savage. Yakkety asks Morita if that’s a fact? Well, if he thinks he can command them, he’s sure welcome to try! Littlebear says that the Sarge has got a point there! He isn’t planning on wasting his career in a prison camp! Savage tells all of them to hold it! They’ve been through too much together not to square off now. Morita angrily states that he is taking control of the submarine and joining the rendezvous ship! Savage tells him that he’s only half right. Morita’s going to meet the ship, all right… but this craft remains under his control! He’ll surface and let Morita and his men off but the ship stays under his command! He’s already spotted Morita’s rendezvous ship on the scope… so why doesn’t he be a good boy and leave! Several tension-packed minutes later, Savage and Morita stand on top of the submarine while the rendezvous ship draws closer. Morita tells Savage that they have been allies and it would be wrong to fight now. He hopes the time will come when they will meet again.. only as mutual friends. Shaking his hand, Savage tells him that he’ll always be praying that day will come and bids him farewell.

However, as the fateful moment of death draws ever nearer, the only thought which can fill the mind of any man must be that of fear! Littlebear thinks that it just can’t end this way. He has too much to live for! He doesn’t want to die! Yakkety thinks that it’s actually going to happen. It’s all over for him but the shouting but… he isn’t ready! Laroque thinks of what is wrong with them. Why do they stand here and face certain death? When all they need do to save themselves is beg for mercy? What madness are they possessed by? That they should sacrifice their lives for pride?
