Posted by Irn12 The Appendix is Ultraverse, so it isn't technically correct to list Protectors, but I'm glad you do have a place for the Protectors. There is very little info on the net about them. Most of what I have was from issues that I bought in addition to the Protector's Handbook. --Previous Message--

The Protector Universe was not actually in the Ultraverse, but both were in the Malibu Universe. Does that make sense?

: Known Relatives: Fracas (brother)
: Group Affiliation: Protectors
: Source of Powers: Believes his powers are

: History: Clay Carter was a college student
: when the American Embassy in Tehran was
: seized and its occupants taken hostage.
: Spurred by his loathing for this action
: against the United States, he looked for
: some way whereby he could serve his country.
: Amazingly, he was seemingly visited by the
: spirit of the ancient Roman god of war,
: Mars. Mars imbued Carter with powers that
: were derived from the planets. Armed with
: these newfound abilities, Carter assumed the
: guise of Man of War. Whether or not this
: visit actually occurred has never been
: established. Clay Carter swears to this day
: that it is the truth, and as a result of the
: incident, he has become an amateur
: astronomer in order to study the planets
: from which his powers supposedly derive. He
: fought his cyborg brother, Fracas. Once
: thought dead after following his brother
: into the service and being listed as KIA, he
: was rebuilt by the Kill Corps to serve the
: government with super powers. The battled
: his brother in Cuba and became somewhat
: disillusioned with his country.

: rested a lost city. The inhabitants were a
: race of giants, and only one of them
: survived. Pro. Pearson 'adopted' the giant
: youth, who stood 12 feet tall, and brought
: him to the United States. A colleague of
: Pearson's, Dr. Francis Hilldale attempted an
: experiment that would shrink that giant to
: normal size. As the result of that
: experiment, Scott Pearson found that he
: could alter his size at will, whether
: growing to a height of 20 feet or shrinking
: to the size of a doll. The last surviving
