Madonna,
It is with great sadness that we wish you farewell. We thank you for helping Patrick and I through our first handling classes in Florida. Tolerating his childish antics in the white van and always doing your best to explain to him that a mastiff should have a dignity not a yorkie bounce when entering a showground. oNe is not supposed to poop in the ring behind you in Westchester when you are stacked nicely as winners b###h. I know you would say the skinny idiot just doesn't get it but thanks for patiently trying.
Thank you for tolerating Andy's prejustice toward fawns and your mom's attempts to try every hair color a brindle might display. As you see now at the bridge itchy is no longer scratchy as you are no longer in any pain.
You know you were their baby in spite of the loving ribing that you got and there will never be a spare part to replace you in their hearts.
We would like to thank you for always being there for us, your dignity and tolerance, and for being such a good baby to your mom and dad. Lisa and Andy i know words cannot heal the hole left in your hearts but know that Madonna is waiting for you at the bridge and that her loss is felt by others more then you can know. With Love, Matt

: It is with great sadness to share that we
: had to let our Madonna go yesterday. She
: had gotten ill last week, seemed to have
: gotten better and then relapsed. We were so
: hoping she would have been with us into her
: dotage (was looking forward to seeing her
: hobbling around at 11 years or so of age ),
: but alas that was not to be. This house is
: just so quiet without her and her
: not-so-gentle snoring (should have taped
: that snoring so we would have had it now).
: Andy would get a headache from it, but it
: would lull me to sleep ... The sound of her
: snoring always told me that all was right in
: her world at that moment in time. She was
: actually the first fawn we ever kept (us
: being brindle folks) -- Andy used to refer
: to her as "spare parts". We so
: miss her.
