He's walking in circles crying

Just today my 2 yr old male mastiff started crying when walking outside. He's not limping or swollen anywhere. I have touched his whole body to see if he crys out in pain and he does not. Now he is in the backyard just standing there. He looks around and starts to walk then crys and just walks in circles with his tail in between his legs. Any thoughts on why he's doing this would be wonderful!
