I have an eight year old with those pendulous calluses also, and they are not removable.. The problem is that they are located on the elbow, a bending joint, you have to remove the area with a little more regular skin with it, and there is not enough skin to keep the wound closed when the leg bends. The calluses are made up of scar tissue, so you cant remove just a part of them, scar tissue will not come together and heal either.

: Our 5 year old english mastiff has large
: hanging sacs on his elbows because he likes
: to lay on the hard floor and the vet says
: these have formed because he drops his
: weight onto the elbows each time he lies
: down. Our vet says there has not been much
: sucess in removing these because they do not
: heal properly. Has anyone else had and
: experience with this and had sucess removing
: them? They are getting larger all the time
: and are very unsightly. He comes into our
: Watch and Jewelry Shop with us each day and
: is a hit with everyone. But need to get rid
: of these.
