TID will be good on the PD for sure and i hope he gets that version finished too.
But when we talk masking, with a TID and you select where to dig by discriminating even among the nonferrous woudnt you add to the mask problem that is great enough as it is.
And is there really too much nonferrous trash at the same layers as 1850 coins.
I believe digging all but iron and maybe even lots of bigger iron to unmask in enough for most coinhunters that want the real goodies left behind.
