I know several of you have owned an S/T and some may still even have one, It's next to impossible to find one especially in working condition and most that still do work have been modified with a different battery setup. Recently, A friend from California (Tom Collins) gave me his old Tekentics S/T which was set-up for hip mount and modified by Keith Wills with an external battery setup. I changed a few things one of them a different coil plug so it would accept other coils including the new Fisher DD coil and mounted the housing back on to an S-handled, Then added back the internal battery setup so the unit can operate with either Keith Wills external battery setup or the stock internal battery setup. The cons on the DD is it takes a slight loss on depth and takes away some sensitivity with the tiniest finds, Otherwise the DD coil works well with more coverage and most users would not even notice the difference with any loss of sensitivity unless they are going after gold jewelry....With the Tek Mark 1 or Tek S/T The concentric coils are best for depth and responding with the smaller finds.
Who would have thought someday a fisher DD coil would be working with the older Tekentics detectors Paul (Ca)
