Well Joe, if WEIGHT is not an issue, there just isn't any deeper coin machine than the Explorers, that ID and discriminate. If there is, someone please tell me because I will take two. The other advantage to the Explorers is the number of different coils made for them by different manufacturers and Especially the availability of a Sun Ray inline probe which dramatically reduces your recovery time and keeps you from scratching that once in a lifetime find while recovering. The largest difference between the Explorer 2 and the new SE is the SE has a faster response time and VCO pinpointing (where the tone and volume go up as you get closer your target). Those 2 things make the SE a much better purchase than the 1 or 2. Again though, they are heavy as heck to swing, some use Doc's swingy thingy to help lessen the load, other times, if you are using an 8 inch coil or less, the weight is quite managable. It does take some learning on the Explorers, approximately 100 hours or more for most, before you really start tapping into the machine's ability, but once you do, you will start pulling nice finds from areas that other machines can't and don't.
