Carl, yes, a lot of us coin/relic guys are so accustomed to a machine being an "Either - Or" option. Ie.: machines of the past that excelled in low conductors (nuggets, teeny gold earings, etc...) was *usually* not a deep-seeker for silver and copper. Likewise, the machines that were killer for deep coins (silver/copper) would *usually* not find tinsel thin gold chains.
I understand that there are cross-over machines, that can do both goals, with proper adjustments. That's why I alluded to the MXT. No, I wasn't saying the MXT would be like the upcoming PI's. Obviously they're 2 different beasts. I was only making the comparison to refer to a machine's ability to do "both" goals. In the case of the MXT, it excells in neither area, but yes, does both so-so.
I am aware that a person need not hear all the birdshot, staples, etc... with the proper setting of the pulse delay. I am just hoping that, once adjusted properly for coin/relic guys, it will have merit not *just* in areas that have nasty minerals, but also for regular soils. I've seen beach pulse guys get a foot on a penny or dime, which is a feat that can't be done with a VLF discriminator (well, MAYBE a sovereign with a WOT coil at times
). If even 10" can be obtained with the new pulses, while retaining some semblance of TID, and ability to pass teensy things, iron, etc.., it would be an excellent coin/relic machine.
