I suspect that iron discrimination, iron rejection and iron identification have different meanings to different people. As the GS5 and TDI have a variable notch type filter that lets you accept or reject different types of signal, then in radio engineering terms, it is really iron rejection that is happening. Either way, it has the ability to not alert the user to something he is uninterested in digging.
