I totally agree. This unit is not for everyone. One thing I like about the price being up there a bit is it helps filter out people as only the more serious folks are likely to shell out the money.
There will be a lot of people who like this detector and probably many that hate it. I think it has potential to be a cult unit for those "in the know" while many people simply will not be able to figure out what the fuss is about.
What people need to understand is coin detecting is last on the list of applications for this machine. It is first and foremost going to be a relic, nugget, and beach machine. Coin hunting will be a specialized application for the who really understand the unit and know where to apply it for best results. There will be plenty of areas where a good VLF will be a better choice.
