Makes great sense. But of course, I have a follow on question.
If I remember past posts of yours, the PI goes deeper (ground allowing) with the GB turned off. I also remember reading a British detecting magazine review of a beach hunting PI (one of Eric's) that they tended to ignore bits of foil. This may, of course because the pulse delay was long.
If this were the case at a low mineral site (in a perfect world), with the GB off, someone could detect small gold, ignore small foil and then test targets by "flipping" on the GB to the ferrous exclusiton point and discriminate" the ferrous out.
Any of this likely?
