That's a great idea. To do it right, consider recording both the target signal and your voice at the same time. That would allow for a running commentary as targets are found. You could record your thoughts while listening to the target from various angles. The viewer would feel like they were actually there with you. It could make a great training tape. The best results would come from having another person doing the actual video while you concentrate on hunting.
The audio could be as simple as using multiple audio adapters and splitters to connect your headphones, voice mic, control box and camera. The better way would be to use small wireless equipment that is similar to what musicians use. A wireless mic on 1 channel and a wireless transmitter from the controls via a y adapter on another channel. Half the Y goes to your headphones the other half gets transmitted wirelessly.
The camera person would have a wireless 2 channel receiver/mixer that has one output to the camera and the other to their headphones. They could adjust the two incoming signals to match in volume before it goes into the camera input.
Another way would be to record the audio from the detector and then overdub comments using video editing software. Either way, it would be help people understand what you'd be hearing and thinking with each target.
