Help removeing plastic from coil wire.

I am working on a project, to try and build a larger coil for my Exterra 70. I have opened the coil to get measurements,etc. But Minelab has poured plastic around the coils and electronic parts. Is there a way to get the plastic off the electronics, with out damageing them?
