you say: ".......suspected something valuable could be buried on it" What type of "item(s)" do you "suspect" Individual coins? (fumble finger losses) if so, get yourself a good coin/jewelry machine, like a 6000 di pro, Explorer, etc....
Or did you mean purposefully buried caches? If so, get yourself a 2-box unit. They will only find toaster/jar sized ojects and larger, so you can kiss individual coin-sized objects goodbye.
