Remember that one from the '70s? An aluminum alloy digging tool maybe 1" wide. I really liked it & would have ordered a bunch if I'd known the company was going out of business.
I don't think it ever broke on me, but sometimes got a dent from hitting a rock or whatever, so I kept filing it shorter, fearing a dent would make it lose its ability to hit a coin without scratching it.
Why is it that nearly all makers of digging tools are forcing us to use stainless steel, when they know it's likely to scratch a coin?
The only aluminum diggers I've been able to find lately the Walmart trowel (lifetime warranty), & the Corona CT-3050 (lifetime warranty) , a narrow (maybe 1 1/4" wide) digger with no teeth that I can get into our ground about 3" now but can't cut a semi-circle. HH, George (MN)
