In disc, if you turn it up to max, you can totally reject dimes while still getting 25c, 50c & $1 coins to several inches. Deepest coins give (atonal) click only.
Tone mode is actually mixed mode. Below disc point there is medium low tone only. Above disc point lower & higher tone simultaneously. The high disc tone is modulated, so shallow coins you hear higher & longer tone mostly. Deeper and they are equal. At max depth, lower all metal tone only.
All metal search mode is motion. So far it seems to have no purpose? I tested with steel bottlecap and heard it equally far in all metal or min disc.
It can get 7" on penny air test, 8" on quarter. Loud, solid, 100% repeatable beeps. Sensitivity can be run at or near max most places. It's made for use in high mineral areas.
On a nickel air test 6"+, but 4" if disc set to reject a wad of foil the size of dime but thickness of nickel. Still, pretty good, I think.
The non-motion pinpoint mode is very high pitched but if you have a severe high frequency hearing loss, you could probably pinpoint using intensity meter. Seems to get about 7" on quarter in pinpoint, though they only claim 6".
If you are over about 5' 8" you will have to use the detector bent over forward. Adjustable down to kid lengths. Rods do wobble where they meet.
Built-in speaker & mini-phone jack.
It's lightweight, 2 9V lasts long time & it has a 1 year warranty f/distributor. HH, George (MN)
