Hi Paul,
I bought one of those Iron Eliminator's from the inventor (Karl) about 15-17 years ago, Went to his home in San Jose Ca. and picked it up in person.
At the time I was new to the XLT and yes it does work, Depth is greatly reduced but it does work. I think it had it's pros ad cons and can't quite remember what they are, But it does work.
Still have it but lost the instructions, You're welcome to borrow it just send me your mailing address.
