Yes, that information is still a sum-up of it. You'll loose major depth, despite what the maker's claims are. I still think that if seeing through iron, nails, etc... is someone's goal for a certain hunt site, they can get better results by just getting an old 77b, or even a lot of the 2-filter machines of today do a pretty good job seeing through a nail or two. Like the Sabre, Bandido, Classics, Shadow, etc... If you just keep the disc. down to barely knocking out small iron, you will indeed get a positive hit on a coin underneath a nail (albeit with loss of proper TID).
