The Compass only had one disc. circuit but it worked up thru the iron range before affecting other metals. But I should have mentioned that while the Gold Scanner Pro and some of the other models had manual ground balance, the XP Pro's did not. They had preset ground balance. Just thought I'd let you know in case you decide to look for a Compass.. Make sure it's a model with manual ground balance if you have bad ground to hunt in.........
